DEC quick to react to customers!

Below is a series of emails between DEC and Maverick regarding a recent customer request for a previously missing configuration in the Land Rover software.  This is typical of how DEC and Maverick react to customer needs and is pretty much unique in the industry.  (NB: Bare in mind that DECs head developer was actually out of the office until the 18th of Jan)

Subject: Land Rover TD5 (1999) throttle pedal config when fitting new engine ECU

Hi Roman,

Haven't come across this one before:

Customer has a 1999 TD5 Land Rover Discovery which has had a replacement ECU from L/R. The vehicle starts and idles but will not rev above tickover.

According to L/R you can configure the new ECU to operate with a 2 or 3 pot throttle pedal.

This is what is causing the problem for the customer, he has managed to complete all the other configs but this one is causing a problem.

Would you please have a look to see if this can be easily added to the software for Joe to use.  As I'm also sure this will occur again due to the ECU's being supplied by L/R being updated and superceeded and having this config problem for older discoverys.

Thanks

Best regards

Richard Arnott

Went to swap Thunder ECU on a 52 Def TD5 other day.Security code re-learned, injector grades entered vehicle started but wouldn't rev.Having used T4 for many years but no longer have access to it, I realised this was a throttle pot track 2 or 3 fault.Spoke to Richard at Maverick Technologies who instantly spoke to Roman at DEC and informed me of a file available to alter this setting but Roman was still working on it, this file will be included in next Land Rover update.Luke informed me file was on it's way. Which I received last night, went to vehicle this morning reset to 3 track, vehicle now revs clean, customer very happy.
Cant beat that for support.
