Semi-Rugged Standard:

All DURABOOK systems pass US Military and European Committee rugged feature standards to ensure its durable qualification. These standard test measurements include:

DROP TEST - Magnesium alloy case - 20 times stronger than ABS plastic, offering higher survival rate after drops and bumps. Compliant with Military Standard 810G
DROP: Meet 2.5 feet with 26 drops to 2” of plywood over concrete with unit off and display closed.  Up to 5 units to pass. MIL-STD-810G, Method 516.4, Procedure IV, Height Modified

VIBRATION TEST - MIL STD 810G, Method 514.5, Procedure I, Category 10, Fig 16&17/ASTM 4169, Truck Transport 11.5.2 Random test, Assurance Level II.

SPILL RESISTANT TEST - European Committee for Electro Technical Standardization of IP31.
SPILL PROOF: 100C.C.water drop on all C cover area in 2-5 seconds with system operational, with no effect on system operation or stability.

DURABOOK Rugged Features

CONCUSSION PROTECTION
All DURABOOK models are built with magnesium alloy top and bottom cases that are 20 times stronger than ABS plastic cases. These cases provide added protection to all of the other vital components within the notebook computers.
ANTI-SHOCK PROTECTION
All DURABOOK systems include special shock absorbing, rubber material around the LCD display and hard disk drive that helps absorb accidental blows to the notebook computers.
SPILL RESISTANT
All DURABOOK models have a unique spill resistant C-Face that includes the area around the keyboard, touchpad, speakers, wireless, and power switches. This spill resistant design helps to protect the electronic devices in the systems from accidental spills.
OPTICAL DISK DRIVE LOCK
All DURABOOK systems have a patented optical disk drive lock that prevents unintentional tray and disc ejection.
