The OBD Log is a new solution from TEXA designed to assist in vehicle repair. The idea behind the OBD Log comes from the experience all mechanics and car owners have had, where an intermittent fault cannot be replicated when a car is taken for repair. This clever little device plugs directly into the vehicle’s own diagnostic socket, monitors and records parameters and errors provided by the EOBD protocol.

But that’s not the full story!

What is truly revolutionary about OBD Log is the fact that you can quickly and simply plug it into your customer’s car, and leave the OBD Log to record all relevant data while your customer drives around normally - for as long as required!

We all know that some faults only occur under specific conditions, problems like power loss only in a certain rev range, or warning lights and sensors flagging faults under particular conditions. And we know these problems are almost impossible to solve in the garage.

The OBD Log records all such errors in an internal memory, and can be downloaded via a USB connection and can be viewed quickly and easily on your PC.

The OBD Log is a sophisticated diagnostic device that plugs directly into a vehicle’s OBD socket unobtrusively without interfering with the normal vehicle use.
Its compact size and the fact that it is totally automatic means that you can install it on any type of 12V vehicle (Euro 2 or later for petrol engines and Euro 4 or later for diesels), and simply leave it recording engine parameters for days or even weeks on lower usage vehicles.
As the OBD Log features a cyclical memory that writes the newer data over the oldest if there are no errors detected, even if the vehicle is delayed in returning to the workshop no critical information will be lost.

At the end of the monitoring period, you can download the recorded data for viewing on your PC using  the OBD log software, a development of TEXA’s acclaimed IDC3 operating system which features a simple graphic interface. This software has been specially developed to present reports for each individual trip, with time and date recorded so that you can identify exactly where and when an error occurred.

For each trip record, a green light indicates that no errors were detected, while a red light shows that an error code was recorded and that fault details are available for viewing.
